Sommarens hudvårdstips: Vad ska man använda och vad ska man undvika på sommaren?

Summer skin care tips: What to use and what to avoid in summer?

There are some basic things you need to pay attention to during summer. Your skin is also exposed to various environmental influences in the summer, just think of strong sunlight!

Take our tips and your summer skin care routine will become easier!

The basic rules of summer skin care:

Our first and most important advice is to drink a lot of water!

No soft drinks containing caffeine or sugar, but water! This quenches thirst the best, while hydrating all the cells of your body, including your skin. Eating lots of fresh fruit is just as good, as the vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants they contain are essential for maintaining the beauty of your skin.

During summer skin care, it is worth using lighter, less greasy creams or serums.

In this case, the skin of the face primarily needs light hydration. If you want, you can stick with your favorite, fattier cream, but use it rather in the evening. A great choice is the hyaluron serum, which is absorbed in seconds and perfectly moisturizes. In fact, if you put it in the fridge, it's extra refreshing.

Be careful with face scrubs, especially those with fruit acid or other exfoliants.

Exfoliation usually makes the skin (light) sensitive, so definitely avoid it during vacation (in fact, even a few days before)! Use an AHA acid face scrub in the evening, then protect your skin with appropriate sun protection depending on the strength of the exfoliation. Clean your pores with a micellar tonic or facial cleansing milk in the summer!

It is very important to relubricate and soothe the skin after a long bath or sunbathing.

In such cases, you can safely use fattier, more nourishing creams to protect your skin from drying out. The term body butter can sound alarmingly greasy, but it is one of the best forms of body care. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely do it - you need much less of it (it's much more concentrated), and the hydration lasts longer.

Deodorant is an indispensable part of our summer skin care toolkit.

The sweating caused by the high heat and the possible odors must be counterbalanced somehow, but it doesn't matter how! If you use an aluminum-free deodorant, it is inevitable in the summer that you will use it twice a day.

Last but not least, the most important element of summer skin care is sun protection!

Unfortunately, strong sunlight is not good for the skin. Did you know that the sun is mostly to blame for skin aging? Never forget sun protection, and if possible, stay out of the hot sun between 11 and 15! Do you know the difference between physical and chemical sun protection? (Read our blog post about this topic here.)

Always be careful and don't forget during summer skin care that less is often more! Get ready for vacation, start an exciting or relaxing vacation that your skin will thank you for!
